A story that started at 13.
It all started when I, Shaydel Laskar, was 13 years old, getting so many babysitting jobs that I couldn’t keep up. I realized I could help—not just by babysitting, but by connecting amazing babysitters with families who needed them.
I saw this as a mitzvah—a way to bring people together, make life easier for parents, and create opportunities for sitters. What started as a simple idea grew into Sitters Over FL: a community built on trust, kindness, and the belief that great childcare can make a real difference.

How do I book a babysitter?
It’s super easy! Click the link to our WhatsApp chat and start the conversation. Tell us when and where you need a sitter and what you’re looking for, and we’ll help you find the right match.
How are Sitters Over FL babysitters screened?
Before joining our network, we review each sitter’s experience and references. We want families to have the information they need before choosing someone to care for their children.
What information will I receive about my sitter?
You’ll receive a sitter profile with her age, babysitting experience, references, and phone number so you can learn more about her before your booking.
Can I choose or request a specific sitter?
Of course! If you’ve already worked with one of our babysitters and would love to have her again, simply message us and request her. We’ll check her availability for you.
How much does a babysitter cost?
Our regular babysitting rates are typically $20–$25 per hour, depending on your family’s budget and needs. Holiday rates, including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, are typically $30–$45 per hour. Your rate will always be discussed before confirming your booking.
Does Sitters Over FL charge families any fees?
Our service is completely free for families with no hidden or surprise fees. If you would like to secure a babysitter one month or more in advance, there is a $25 advance booking fee.
What happens if I cancel or my babysitter cancels?
If you cancel a confirmed booking, a $20 cancellation fee applies. If your babysitter cancels, we’ll do our best to find you another available sitter as quickly as possible.
Can I book last-minute, overnight, or recurring babysitting?
Yes! We help with last-minute, overnight, one-time, and recurring babysitting, depending on availability. Just send us what you need and we’ll start looking for you.
What is the goal of Sitters Over FL?
Our goal is simple: to help families and babysitters.
We want to make it easier for parents to find reliable babysitters without expensive agency fees or one fixed hourly price. At the same time, we give girls in our community opportunities to earn extra money, find part-time work, and connect with families who need their help.
At the end of the day, Sitters Over FL is about helping parents, creating opportunities for babysitters, and bringing more fun and care into your children’s day.
